Tour itinerary

Day 1

Beijing, Old districts, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City

We arrive in Beijing and check into a hotel in the guesthouse in the old Hutong area. This is old Beijing, as it was hundreds or even thousands of years before us. Stone houses here are not taller then two floors. By tradition, the family lives on the second floor, and on the first floor it runs a business - a shop, cafe or workshop. The streets here are narrow, filled with children and the neighbors go to visit each other. Did we mention street food?! Dumplings with all kinds of fillings, steamed buns, traditional herbal tea and all kinds of noodles ... Very tasty!

We get to the center and find ourselves in the heart of the noisy metropolis. This is the famous Tiananmen Square - the largest square in the world! The meticulous experts calculated that more than 1 million people can fit here shoulder to shoulder. True, by Chinese standards, this is not such a large number of people ...

We walk to the Forbidden City - the former main palace of the Chinese emperors. Built in 1420, it was used until the overthrow of the monarchy in China. Have you seen the movie The Last Emperor? These events unfolded here!

Day 2

The Great Wall of China, Traditional Beijing duck

By bus we go to Badalin (about an hour and a half on the way). This town is known for the part of the famous Great Wall of China, which has been preserved better than others. We will try to get here at a time when crowds of tourists are still not walking around.

Feel all the greatness of this grand structure - one of the new wonders of the world. A wall with a height of 7 meters, along which we will walk, stretches more than 21 thousand kilometers! They began to build it back in the 3rd century BC to protect the Chinese kingdoms from nomads. The famous emperor Qin Shi Huang - the founder of the Qin dynasty, was particularly concerned about the construction and fortification of the Wall. Have you seen the famous movie "Hero"? This is the one we are talking about.

In the evening we return to Beijing and go to the restaurant for a traditional Beijing duck.

Day 3

The city of Luoyang, Longmen Caves

In the morning we leave for Luoyang by high-speed train (approximately 4 hours on the way). We check into the hotel, and then go to see the main Buddhist caves of China - Longmen Caves.

These limestone rocks and caves near the river began to be used by Buddhist monks as early as the 5th century. Since then, hundreds of small man-made caves with dozens of temples, hundreds of Buddha statues and his disciples, and hundreds of unique wall paintings have appeared in the rocks. The height of the main statue of Buddha is 15 meters!

Walking through the caves, we will see unique images of saints, celestial dancers and animals - some of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art. This place is perfect for learning more about Buddhism.

In the evening, we return to the hotel in Luoyang.
