Tour itinerary

Day 1

We arrive in Bishkek and check into a hotel. We rent bicycles and gear and a special vehicle takes us and our bicycles to the village of Arashan (about half an hour on the way). There we jump on our bicycles and begin the 37-kilometer ride between the Alamedin and Alaarcha rivers. First, we pass by the Tatyr ski base to Chunkurchak - one of the smallest, but the most beautiful gorges of the Tian Shan. Then we go to the national bio-reserve of rare species of tulips. Boundless spaces framed by mountains, yurts, where locals live in the summer, herds of grazing cows and sheep ... What a views! After the pass we descend to the Oruu-Sai gorge (2100 meters above sea level). We reach the village of Kashka-Suu. By car we return to Bishkek (about half an hour on the way). Day distance on bicycles: 37 km.

Day 2

In the morning, we leave Bishkek by car to Kara-Balty, and then to the south, to the Too-Ashuu pass (3586 meters above sea level). Every now and then our car dives into tunnels that protect the road from avalanches and rock falls. This is one of the most dangerous passes in the entire Central Asian region. About two hours on the way to the pass, we jump on bicycles and descend to Susamyr valley. We are passing the picturesque villages of Kozhomkul and Kyzyl-Suu. We spend the night in the Kokomeren river valley. Day distance on bicycles: 72 km.

Day 3

The car takes us to the village of Jangi-Arik (approximately 1 hour on the way). There we change to bicycles and cycle up to the Tuz-Ashuu pass. We admire magical snow-capped mountains and go down to the mountain lake Song Kol. This lake of incredible blue color is located at an altitude of 3016 meters above sea level! 200 days a year the lake is covered with snow and ice. Then, it is almost impossible to get to it. We spend the night in a yurt near the lake. This is how local nomads live! Day distance on bicycles: 38 km.
