Tour itinerary

Day 1

Beijing, Old districts, Tiananmen Square , Forbidden City

We arrive in Beijing and check into the guesthouse in the old Hutong district. This is old Beijing, with two-story traditional houses and narrow streets. On the second floor families live, and on the first floor they run a family business - a shop, cafe or a workshop. Needless to say that the food here is delicious. Dumplings with various fillings, rice steam buns, traditional herbal tea, noodles, grilled meat, tofu cheese and eggplants cooked in different ways ... Enjoy!

We get to the famous Tiananmen Square - the largest square in the world. It can fit up to 1 million people. In the West, this area gained fame after the suppression of popular demonstrations here in 1989.

Next - is iconic Forbidden City - the main palace of the Chinese emperors for over 500 years. The name speaks for itself - this palace complex is located on 72 hectares and consists of 980 buildings!

Day 2

The Great Wall of China, Peking duck

By bus we go to Badalin (about an hour and a half on the way). This part of the Great Wall of China has been preserved very well. We will walk along the Wall for a few kilometers (the walk will take about 2 hours), enjoying scenic views on both sides. Imagine that quite recently it divided the Chinese kingdoms from the nomadic tribes.

A wall with a height of 7 meters stretches more than 21 thousand kilometers! They began to build it back in the 3rd century BC. A crucial role was played by the legendary emperor Qin Shi Huang - the founder of the Qin dynasty. Have you seen the famous movie "Hero"? That is the one.

In the evening we return to Beijing and enjoy a traditional dinner of the famous Peking duck.

Day 3-4

Longmen caves, Shaolin monastery, Kung-fu show

In the morning we leave for Luoyang by high-speed train (approximately 4 hours on the way). We check into a hotel and then go to see the main Buddhist caves of China - Longmen caves. Back in the 5th century, Buddhist monks settled here and began digging caves into limestone rocks. Now there are hundreds of them here!

The largest cave temples boast huge statues of Buddha and his disciples. And the height of the main statue is 15 meters! Perhaps the main pride of these places - unique wall painting, which are considered the best examples of Chinese Buddhist art.

We learn more about Buddhism and return to the hotel in Luoyang in the evening. In the morning we leave for Shaolin - a famous Buddhist monastery known for monks-masters of Chinese martial arts. It is located in a once very secluded place, but now quite a lot of tourists come here. It is believed that Shaolin was founded by a Buddhist monk from India. Soon this place became so popular that the first people of the empire began to come here.

In the West, Shaolin became famous thanks to Hollywood. Now monks show their skills in Kung-fu for the tourists. And those who wish can even stay in the monastery to study Chinese martial arts.

We will enjoy the show, observe Buddhist ceremonies in the temple of the monastery and in the evening go by train to Huashan (1 hour on the way). There we check into a hotel.
