Stunning islands and volcanoes. This is how the trip could be described in short. But we will see much more. We start from futuristic Singapore and then indulge in endless Indonesian beaches, waterfalls and national parks with volcanoes. We will also enjoy rafting, diving and snorkeling, see ancient cities of Yogyakarta, Malang and Ubud and visit one the most impressive temples of the world - timeless Borobudur and Prambanan.
  • Day 1
    Arrival in Singapore, checking into a guesthouse in the center.
  • Day 2-3
    During our two days in Singapore we will visit Chinatown with its temples and unforgettable dining experience, explore Singapore zoo, known as one of the best in the world, and discover Singapore National Museum. We will also see the city from the top of the famous Marina bay sands hotel, visit man-made Gardens by the bay with its famous lights show and see beautiful Botanical gardens.
  • Day 4
    Flight to Yogyakarta, checking into a hotel in the center, dinner in the famous local restaurant.
  • Day 5
    In the morning we enjoy sunrise views over Merapi volcano and then visit two of the most famous temple complexes in the world – Buddhist Borobudur and Hindu Prambanan, both of 9th century.
  • Day 6
    In the morning we take a bus to the nearby Indian ocean where we enjoy beaches, visit a picturesque lake and a waterfall. We enjoy lunch and dinner of seafood and coconuts and spend a night in the hotel with ocean view.
  • Day 7
    We visit more deserted beaches and then take a bus to Pacitan where we check into a guesthouse.
  • Day 8
    Bus ride (7 hours) to Malang, the cultural capital of Eastern Java. Checking into a guesthouse.
  • Day 9
    We travel to Probolinggo by bus where we ride boats trying to see whale sharks, largest known extant fish species, who spend about three months a year in this waters. We continue to the Madakaripura waterfalls (3 hours) and enjoy this stunningly beautiful water wonder in the midst of the jungle. In the evening we check into a hotel near Bromo volcano.
  • Day 10
    Morning trip to Bromo Tengger Semeru national park where we will visit a crater of Bromo volcano and enjoy a stunning sunrise. We are back to a hotel, where we rest and then take a 6 hours ride to Bondowoso where we check into a hotel near Ijen volcano.
  • Day 11
    Very early in the morning we ride jeeps and then walk to the top of volcano, where hundreds of miners excavate sulfur every night. After lunch we take a bus and a ferry (4 hours) to Bali and check into a guesthouse on the northern part of the island.
  • Day 12
    In the morning we take speedboats to the nearby Menjangan Island – the best place for diving and snorkeling. At lunchtime we are back to Bali for some rest.
  • Day 13
    In the morning we take a bus to Ubud, visiting Munduk waterfall on the way, as well as a wonderful temple in the middle of the Batur lake. We will also stop at a fruit bazaar and then check into bungalows in Ubud.
  • Day 14
    Rafting on the picturesque Bali river, exploration of Udub and visit to a monkey park.
  • Day 15
    We take jeeps and speedboats (4 hours) to reach Gili islands where we check into a guesthouse.
  • Day 16
    All kinds of motorised vehicles are banned on Gili islands so we will be getting around using bicycles or horses, and boats. We will also enjoy stunning underwater world by diving and snorkeling.
  • Day 17
    We take speedboats back to Bali (2 hours), and then explore the famous Tanah Lot rock temple. We check into a guesthouse in the center of Kuta.
  • Day 18
    We explore southern side of Bali, visiting rocky beaches around Uluwatu, adored by surfers. We also visit beach with caves, then have dinner in Uluwatu temple, while enjoying sunset and watching Bali’s traditional Kecak fire dances.
  • Day 19
    Morning flight to Singapore (without a guide). Flight back home.

Is this trip for you?

This trip is dynamic, of below average difficulty level. It consists of long walks in cities and easy hikes in national parks and gardens. We will be moving around in ferries and boats, ride buses for up to 7 hours at a time, all while visiting places of interest on the way. We will also do rafting, ride horses or bicycles. Those interested will have an opportunity to learn surfing and diving. Accommodation will be provided in hotels with basic facilities and bungalows, most of them will have hot water and wi fi internet.

Price of the trip includes:

  • Domestic flights Singapore-Yogyakarta and Bali-Singapore;
  • Accommodation in double/twin (sometimes triple and more) rooms of simple hotels, guesthouses and bungalows during the entire trip;
  • All transportation including buses, ferries, speedboats and public transportation;
  • Professional guide services.

To be paid separately:

  • Flight to Singapore and from Singapore back home;
  • Medical insurance (mandatory);
  • Tickets to museums, parks and other places of interest, rafting ($200);
  • Diving ($30 or PADI Open Water diving courses which includes 5 dives, exam and a license - $380);
  • Snorkeling ($8-10 for equipment per day);
  • Visa to Indonesia ($50);
  • Airport fees in Indonesia ($45);
  • Food ($15-20 per person per day in Singapore, $8-15 in Indonesia).
