  • Day 1
    Arrival in Islamabad, check into the hotel. Walk around the city, during which we will see the Pakistan monument, the Lake Wye Park, the Faisal Mosque - one of the largest mosques in the world, and the Margal Hills, which offers a panoramic view of the city. Lunch in a restaurant overlooking Islamabad. A trip to Rawalpindi in the afternoon (about 2 hours on the way) where we will check into a hotel.
  • Day 2
    Morning departure to Chitral (about 11 hours). We will visit ancient Buddhist temples in Taxila and Takht-i-Bahi on the way. Fantastic mountain views are waiting for us at the Swat valley and the Lowari Pass (3,122 meters above sea level). Night in the hotel in Chitral.
  • Day 3
    Walk around the city which is located at the foot of the highest peak of Hindu Kush - Tirich-Mir. Departure to Kalasha Valleys (about 1 hour). These valleys, which are surrounded by radical Islam, have become a home for the ethnicity called Kalashi. These people are pagans, have Slavic appearance, wear luxurious clothes every day, and have unusual customs and taboos. Here we will also see the highest peak of Hindu Kush, the majestic Tirich-Mir. Night in one of Kalasha villages.
  • Day 4
    Morning departure to Karimabad. The views on the way will be extremely picturesque. We will stop at Shandur Top, next to world's highest polo field, visit the Shandur Lake (about 8 hours) and then continue to the Goopechh valley (about 3 hours) to see it’s highlights: Marco Polo rams and Lake Khalti. Night in Goopechh.
  • Day 5
    Short tour around the Goopechh valley and departure to Karimabad (about 4.5 hours). We check into the hotel and then visit "the happiest place in the world" - the Hunza Valley, which lies between the three highest mountain chains in the world. Hunzakut style dinner with local alcohol tasting. Night in Karimabad.
  • Day 6
    We watch the sunrise on the Eagle Nest rock and enjoy panoramic views of six and seven thousand meters hight peaks. After breakfast, we plunge into the history of Hunza, visiting Altit and Balti forts, explore culture and traditions of the Hunzakut tribe, and the local Alawite religion. After lunch we departure to Passu (about 2 hours) through the world's highest international highway, Atbad Lake and one of the most dangerous bridges - Hussey Bridge. Dinner in the resort town of Gilgit. Coming back to Karimabad for the night.
  • Day 7
    Morning departure to Skardu (about 5 hours on the way). Skardu is an oasis surrounded by Karakoram mountains, it is also called a “Pakistani fairy tale”. Checking into the hotel. Walk around the city, visiting the local fort, waterfall, Buddha Rock.
  • Day 8
    Morning departure to the Shigar Valley - the gate to the mountains of Karakoram, and the most dangerous peak in the world: K2. We will visit the historic town of Shigar, inhabited by the Tibetans and two beautiful lakes: Upper Kachura Lake and Satpara Lake. Coming back to Skardu.
  • Day 9
    Morning departure to Islamabad through the Astor valley (about 4 hours). We will stop to admire the breathtaking Nanga Parbat mountain views near the lake Rama. Short stop at Abottabadi to have a look at the house where the world’s most known terrorist Osama bin Laden was killed. Late at night, we arrive in Islamabad (about 13 hours on the road).
  • Day 10
    Flight home.

Is this trip for you?

This trip is of light physical grade. It includes short bus and train rides, and two long bus rides - for 11 and 13 hours, including stops for food and visiting places of interest on the way. We will also be taking long walks in cities and towns. The route includes changes of climate conditions and altitudes. Accommodation in double/twin rooms of tourist class hotels and guesthouses, almost everyone will have wi fi internet. We will spend one night in the basic conditions in a private guesthouse, possibly without hot water.

The price of the trip includes:

  • All transportation, including trains, buses, public transport and taxis;
  • Accommodation in hotels and guesthouses throughout the journey;
  • Professional guiding services.

To be paid separately:

  • Flight to Islamabad and back home;
  • Insurance (mandatory);
  • Food ($20-25 per day);
  • Entrance tickets to parks, museums and other sights on the route;
