Is this trip for you?

The trip is of easy physical grade. It includes two short flights, walks in cities and towns, riding jeeps for up to 9 hours. We will also do an easy 4 hours long trek. Accommodation in tourist class hotels and guesthouses, most of them will have hot water and wi fi internet.

The price of the trip includes:

  • Accommodation in double/twin rooms of tourist class hotels and guesthouses during the entire trip;
  • All transportation;
  • Visa to Bhutan;
  • Food in Bhutan;
  • Guiding services during the entire trip.

To be paid separately:

  • Flight to Delhi and from Delhi back home;
  • Flights Paro-Delhi ($225) and Delhi-Bagdogra ($70);
  • Insurance (mandatory);
  • Entry tickets to museums, palaces, park and other plces of interest ($50);
  • Visa to India ($103).

Tour itinerary

Day 1-2

Arrival in Delhi and flight to Bagdogra. We ride jeeps to the border with Bhutan and spend a night in a guesthouse in the town of Jaigaon. Next morning we spend 6 hours getting to the capital Thimphu. On the way we will see many traditional villages, forts and rice fields and enjoy lovely mountain views. We check into a hotel in Thimphu and walk in the town.

Day 3

We visit the famous Chorten memorial, where prayers never stop, and the biggest bronze statue of Buddha. We will also walk in the park with takins, Bhutan’s national animal. And lunch we move to Paro, walk on the chain bridge, check into a local hotel and enjoy dinner in a traditional Bhutanese house.

Day 4

In the morning we do a trek to the Paro Taktsang - the Tiger nest temple on the cliff side. To get there we will ascend 1500 meters above sea level, the trek will take us around 4 hours. We will lunch in the cozy cafe near a monastery. According to the legend, the great Buddhist teacher Padma Sabkha flew on a bird to this place, bringing Buddhism to Bhutan. Then we will visit the Kyichu Lhakhang monastery founded in VII century by the Tibetan king and the monastery Rinpung Dzong, where parts of the famous Bernardo Bertolucci film “Little Buddha” were shot.
